Opposition brings Concord

The person who said this was Heraclitus of Ephesus. This man was a Greek philosopher and lived of the coast of Asia Minor. (Heraclitus)There is not a lot known about his life other than his wise contributions to society. He wrote, “Opposition brings concord: Out of discord comes the fairest harmony.” Opposition brings concord means that when faced with opposition people come together unite. Whenever oppression or wrongdoing is going on in the world people tend to all agree to rise above it or against it. In my life I had teachers that brought me to the brink of insanity. Others in the same class saw this and were being mistreated too. We all came together to get this teacher held responsible for her actions. In this situation we all became much closer and tighter knit group. Out of discord come the fairest of harmony is a lot like the first part of the quote. It says that numerous times someone disagrees with someone else and they end up talking to discuss what needs to be changed and done differently. Because of this they then become more aware of the others situation and easier for each of them to compromise and give each other what they need. In my life there have been people that I did not like but as soon as I talked to them and figured out why they were like that if gave me more respect for them and able to live peacefully with them.
